In February -October 2007, ZINGA was applied on the Metro station "Park Cheliuskintsev", in Minsk, Belarus.
A total amount of 3.000 Kg of ZINGA was used, followed by a primer and topcoat after 24 hours drying. The customer SP OO TRAIPLTEHNO expressed complete satisfaction.

Trash racks power plant

In January 2008, ZINGA was used for the repair of trash racks at the Young Heung Power Plant, Young Heung Island, Incheon City.
The trash racks are immersed in sea water at the entrance of the cooling water system of the power plant, thus filtering floating objects from sea water.

These tanks store the wheat for the production of whisky.

Signage gantries Bribie Island

In 2010 Queensland Main Roads specified ZINGA for two new signage gantries on Bribie Island Road. The gantries are 18 and 26 meters in length. ZINGA provides comparable protection to hot dipped galvanising without size constraints, also minimising post fabrication transport requirements.

Piprakhali Bridge

The Piprakhali bridge under Irrigation and Waterways Directorate, Govt. of West-Bengal is an important bridge in Basanti near Sunderban.

This area is highly prone to corrosion because of the close proximity of sea water from the Bay of Bengal.

This fact was quite evident from the condition of the bridge which is just 8 years old. Some portions of the bridge were totally distorted due to corrosion and had to be replaced before the coating application could be started.

Dr. DY Patil Sports Stadium

DY Patil Stadium is a cricket stadium at DY Patil Vidyanagar campus, Nerul, Navi Mumbai, India. The stadium has all the facilities of an international cricket stadium, and has been designed by Hafeez Contractor, one of India's premier architects. The stadium was officially inaugurated on the 4th of March 2008, and is one of the home grounds for IPL team Mumbai Indians. The stadium also has other facilities including 9 tennis hard courts, 4 indoor badminton courts and an Olympic sized swimming pool.

A unique feature of the stadium is the cantilever roof which eliminates the need for any supports thus providing the spectators with an unobstructed view of the match from any place within the stand.

ZINGA was used on all the steel trusses for corrosion protection.

At the end of 2008, 50 previously galvanised light poles along the Don Muang Tollway have been treated with ZINGA.

Because the customer: ‘Bangkok Expressway Public LTD’ (BECL) was happy with the result, they decided in 2009 that another 549 light poles should be repaired with ZINGA.

Because ZINGA is very easy to apply and gives excellent protection against corrosion another 2400 light poles are treated with ZINGA in 2010

Molisson Street Bridge

The Molisson Street Bridge is situated in Kyneton, Northern Victoria, Australia and has

served the past 100 years for traffic over the Compaspe River.

It is the first steel bridge structure treated with ZINGA for VicRoads Design.

In the last decade it was showing rapid deterioration caused by corrosion.

Therefore it was decided to treat this bridge in May 2007.

The old coating had to be removed completely because of this rapid advancement of

corrosion.

Alcoa LTD is a worldwide producer of, among others, aluminium. One of the places where they produce aluminium is Point Henry in Australia.

Because this production takes up a lot of energy, they produce it themselves in a power plant running on coal in Anglesea, Australia.

ZINGA has been used on water trays that are placed at the inside of cooling towers, this application took place in Anglesea.

Very easy application, it took only two days for one tower.

The railings and the supporting steel structures of the bridge of the Wegenfonds in Afsnee (Ghent) were treated with ZINGA in 1985 by the applicator Peiniger. This bridge is built over one of the busiest motorways of Belgium: “E40 from Brussels capital to the Belgian coast (Ostend, Zeebrugge harbour), so it is constantly exposed to pollution.”

Mercator - Sailing Ship

The sailing ship Mercator originally functioned as training ship for the officers of the Belgian navy. It has a length of about 45 m and carries 3 masts. The Mercator is now a museum. Once or twice a year it sails in the North Sea between Zeebrugge and Antwerp. The ship is located in the docks with other sailing ships, all year long. The pH and the aggressive character of this kind of water is very high.

De Graeve Schipyards is one of the last well-known shipyards in Belgium.

This company is situated in the port of Zeebrugge. In 1980 they had their first experience with ZINGA and they have continued to use this system ever since, not only for repair and maintenance, but also for new constructions of vessels. These vessels, especially fishing boats, are navigating in the North Sea, around Iceland and in the Atlantic Ocean.

Railway Office of Benin

In 1906, 2 metal bridges were built across the Zou and the Ouémé Rivers, under the authority of the Railway Office of Benin (Office de Chemins de Fer de Bénin).

The line Bénin-Niger links Cotonou to Parakou. The Zou bridge consists of 3 spans of 20 m and the Ouémé bridge has 8 spans of 20 m.

Furnas - Electricity Pylons

ZINGA was applied on a highly corroded high tension power pylon of the electricity company Furnas, in February 1999. The application took 10 days. The surface was manually prepared by metal brush, sand-paper and by degreasing with turpentine. Zingasolv was used to clean the brushes and to dilute the ZINGA when necessary. Considering the aggressive area, 2 layers were applied with a dry film thickness of 40 μm with an interval of 2 hours. For a surface of 332.31 m², 31 gallons of 5 Kg were used: 5 Kg covering 11 m². ZINGA was applied in an ambient condition of high humidity. Adhesion testing gave a very positive result.

Dorbras Railway Company

The railway company Dorbras was looking for a solution for the oxidation on the metal plates that are used for the fixation of rails onto the crossbeams. In April 1999 approx.

45000 zinganised fixation plates were installed. A layer of 80 μm ZINGA was applied with a spraying gun. These plates are constantly in contact with the concrete block at the end of each crossbeam and are slightly shaken each time a train passes on the tracks.

This is a dairy farm in the region of Vitebsk in Belarus where ZINGA was applied in the year 2005 - 2006.

Kobrin Oil Pumping Station

Pictures of the application of ZINGA on the outside and inside surface of oil tanks of the oil pumping station near Kobrin: one of the oil-pumping stations of the pipe-line Siberia – West Europe on the territory of Belarus. The application was done in 2002. First the surface was grit-blasted. ZINGA was applied at the inside of the tanks used for the storage of oil (also heating oil) with a layer thickness of 60 μm, covered with several layers of epoxy topcoats (produced in Russia) which are usually used for the inside coating of such tanks. The total thickness of the ZINGA-layers at the outside surface was 120 μm (applied in 2 layers). There were no topcoats. Cleaning by mixture of water and sand under high pressure.

Since the beginning of 2000, Zinga is being used in Congo by the company Mobimetal, for the refurbishment of telecommunication pylons in Congo. The pylons are dismantled and the different beams are grit-blasted in a work shop. Then 2 layers of Zinga are applied.

The stadium was designed for use throughout the 2008 Summer Olympics and Paralympics. Located in the Olympic Green, the $ 423 million stadium is the world´s largest steel structure.

Guangzhou Baiyun Airport

In February 2002 Zinga was applied on the passengers’ terminals of the Guangzhou New Baiyun Airport. The construction of the passengers’ terminals consists of hollow metal elements, that have been previously hot-dip galvanised.

For better acoustics, the metal was perforated. Afterwards, the surface with the little holes had to be repaired again with Zinga. The surface was sprayed with Zinga in an angle of 45° from both sides.

Yuehai Passage Train-Ferry Pier Terminal

The picture was taken on 06/01/03, during the opening ceremony at the south pier terminal of the Yuehai Passage Train-Ferry, located at the port city of Haikao, capital of Hainan Province. The north pier terminal is located at Zhanjiang port, Guangdong Province. The project was designed by a British marine technology design firm. It utilizes giant ferry boats to carry 4 trains, simultaneously on the upper deck, across the Strait of Qinzhou.

Chongqing Broadcasting Company

In July 2001 the Chongqing Broadcasting Company has constructed a new TV transmission tower.

ZINGA was applied on top of hot-dip galvanised steel. The hot-dip galvanising layer was new but due to its bad quality, it had already started to rust. It was roughened by means of a chemical etching product.

The site was inspected in April 2002 and the Zinga was found to be in excellent condition.

Guangzhou TV Tower

Guangzhou Tower is a 610 metre high lattice telecommunication tower built in the Chinese city of Guangzhou. On top of the tower is an observation deck and in the building several restaurants are incorporated.

The tower is built up out of 24 tubular pipes each measuring 2 metres in diameter and 10 metres in length. Total tonnage of steel to be used is approximately 50.000 tons.

Maglev Transrapid Railway

The ZINGA was applied on several parts of the Maglev (magnetic levitation) Transrapid ultra high speed train that is connecting the city centre of Shanghai with the Pudong area. The Transrapid is the fastest land vehicle. For distances up to 800 km, the trip does not take longer than with fan aeroplane.

Krasikov Transformer Station

The pylons and other structures of the Krasikov Transformer Station were treated with ZINGA in the summer of ’94.

The application was done by brush and roll. ZINGA was used as primer on the grit-blasted surface in one layer of approx. 50 μm. The total amount of ZINGA used at this site was approx. 1.5 ton. ZINGA was topcoated with Jotun Conceal (without sealer) at a layer thickness of 80 μm applied in one coat, also by brush and roll.

Slavetice Transformer Station

ZINGA was used on the pylons of the Slavetice Transformer Station, to repair the Atmofix anti-corrosion protection. ZINGA was applied basically on the inner surfaces between 2 metal plates. The problem was that the corrosion between the metal plates caused such pressure that the bolts broke. In most cases they applied ZINGA also on the outer surface of the metal plate. All other surfaces, that look black, are still covered with the old protection layer Atmofix. The application of ZINGA started in 2000 and was continued until 2002.

Airport of Düsseldorf

ZINGA was applied on steel structures of the Airport of Düsseldorf in 1990, namely on a hangar, with a height of more than 30 m, that serves as testing area for the engines of large commercial airplanes and of which the interior side has been insulated with panels. There is a metal structure between the insulation panels and the concrete building. The entire metal structure has been protected with ZINGA as unique system. The applied ZINGA layer thickness was 120 μm. The company Dillinger Stahlbau executed the job.

Sea Buoys

These two sea buoys have been floating in the Atlantic Ocean for 4 years. The yellow buoy, a mild steel buoy treated with Zinga, was compared to the green buoy that was galvanised by the traditional hot-dip process. The two buoys had received the same type of topcoats with the same layer thickness, with a supplementary adhesion coating for the hot-dipped buoy.

Bangor Pier - Immersed Piles

ZINGA was applied on immersed piles at Bangor harbour. The piles were first UHP water-blasted and then grit-blasted to give the correct surface profile. Then approx.

200 μm of ZINGA was applied in 4 coats by brush. The work was executed by the contracting company SAR Marine and General in November 2000.

Killybegs Fishing Pier - Immersed Pier Legs

The customer, the Irish Department of Marine and Natural Resources, and the contractor, SAR Marine & General, waited a full year before giving any official comment on the performance of the ZINGA coating.

Based on regular controls, they confirmed that the ZINGA is performing very well.

These pictures of the pier legs were taken in August 2001: one year after the application.

The ZINGA is holding perfectly with no rust showing.

Any marking on the legs is either seaweed or harbour contaminants.

KEPCO Transformers

ZINGA Korea has coated a couple of transformers. They compared the transformers coated with ZINGA to one transformer that was powder coated. This comparison was made to test ZINGA before it could be applied on transformers that would be installed in a sea-shore area (i.e.Technology Development Project for Transformers). Next to this, there also have been comparison tests performed by an independent testing laboratory.

In 1985 ZINGA was applied by brush on the steel structures of the Kalvoya Bridge in Norway.

In February 2010, 25 years after the application, the layer thickness of ZINGA on the Kalvoya Bridge was measured.

PSA Lighting Masts

PSA (Port of Singapore Authority), is the 4th largest port in the world and the second busiest after Rotterdam. ZINGA was selected to be coated on 30 lighting masts.

Each lighting mast measures 45 meters in height within minimum DFT of 20 microns.

At this moment 90% of the light masts in this harbor are protected with Zinga. The first light masts were treated in 2002.

Being at the container area, most of the lighting masts (previously protected by hot-dip) were installed near to the sea coast and were found to be quite rusty.

Office Togolais des Phosphates

The phosphate mine Office Togolais des Phosphates has placed 2 offshore charging cranes at 1.6 km in the sea. These cranes are linked to the stock department by means of a conveyor. These cranes are very mobile and weigh 325 tonnes each. The Office Togolais des Phosphates produces ± 2.400.000 tonnes of phosphates per year. An average of 5 ships per month is charged.

The new airport Suvarnabhum is located on a boggy, 3,100ha site in the Samut Prakarn province of Thailand at Nong Ngu Hao (translated as Cobra Swamp), 30 km east of Bangkok. Construction of Suvarnabhumi Airport began in January 2002 and was finished in September 2006.

Chernobyl Nuclear Power Station

ZINGA is the one material that can meet the high and strict requirements of the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Station for anti-corrosion protection. In 2002 ZINGA was used for the repair of welds and transportation and assembly damages of various metal structures.

Starting from October 2003, more anti-corrosion protection works are planned, namely on the platforms and grid walks of the nuclear waste tanks.

The general contractor for the works is the French corporation Vinci.

Kiev Energo - Power Plant

In 2003 the ZINGA distributor in Ukraine, KVVT, Vector Technologies, has signed a contract with Kiev Energo Power Plant (thermal electric power & heat plant nr. 6) for the anti-corrosion treatment of high-voltage power transmission line towers and supports that had been hotdip galvanised in the late ‘70-s. The total surface to be coated with ZINGA was amounting to 1350 m².

Zuyevskaya Thermal Power Plant

The Zuyevskaya Thermal Power Plant, near the city of Donetsk, is one of the biggest of this type in Ukraine. It generates 5430 million kW-hours of electricity per year. In September 2003 one of its water-cooling towers was being overhauled, including the all-around anticorrosion protection and the hydrophobic sealing. In total 3500 m² had to be coated with ZINGA.

Exxaro Kumba - Grootgeluk Coalmine

In 2005 the Kumba Resources (now called Exxaro) started with the application of ZINGA on their infrastructure (6500 m² in total). Originally they applied only one thin layer of ZINGA (because they had used too much solvent) which was not enough. After application of a new ZINGA layer in March 2006, the customer was very satisfied. There were inspections in October 2006 and again in February 2007.
